NEW DELHI: Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma has decided to retire from Test cricket following a series of consecutive losses and increasing criticism. According to Indian media, Rohit will announce his retirement after the conclusion of the ongoing five-match Test series against Australia.
Top officials from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and selectors are reportedly aware of his decision, and there are no indications that it will be reversed. While the exact timing of his retirement announcement remains unclear, there is a strong possibility that the fifth and final Test match in Sydney will be his last in the format.
