Rivals Musk and Zuckerberg join forces to finance an AI venture.
Elon Musk sought financial backing from Mark Zuckerberg during his bid to acquire the AI company, new legal documents show.
US – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – A recent court filing shows that Elon Musk reached out to Meta’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, for financial help. Musk was trying to gather investors for his attempt to buy the AI company earlier this year. Reports state that Musk discussed investing with Zuckerberg, among others. His total offer for the company was valued at a massive $3 billion.
However, Zuckerberg and Meta chose not to join Musk’s investment group. They did not sign any agreements or provide funding. The company’s board of directors officially turned down Musk’s buyout proposal last February. Now, the court wants Musk to share details of all his investor talks. This evidence is key to proving he had the funds ready for such a large purchase.
In response, Meta said the court’s request is unclear. They stated they were not part of the deal and have no relevant documents. They suggested that if any other groups joined Musk’s bid, the court should ask them for proof. Meanwhile, Musk argued in court that the current leaders of the AI company have strayed from its original non-profit mission of helping humanity.

This conflict started years ago. Musk and Sam Altman originally founded the company as a nonprofit to ensure AI benefited everyone. Musk claims the company lost its way when it later created a for-profit arm and partnered with Microsoft. He is now taking legal action, arguing this move betrayed the company’s core principles.
