Rawalpindi dismisses 12 dengue workers for negligence

Health team takes action against negligent dengue workers as HPV vaccination campaign for girls gains strong momentum across the district.

Rawalpindi—(Special Correspondent/Web Desk)—The health department in Rawalpindi has let go of twelve workers. These staff members were not doing their jobs properly during the fight against dengue fever. The head of the health team, Dr. Ehsan Ghani, explained that over 448 workers first received official warnings. After looking into the matter, twelve were the first to be dismissed for not meeting their goals.

A full investigation is still happening. A special group of three people will look into other workers who may have been careless. The people who were fired did not complete the important tasks given to them to stop dengue mosquitoes. Even after being told many times, they did not improve their work.

The campaign to stop dengue is still going strong across the district. Teams are working in areas that need it most to spray and check homes. Everyone is asked to please help these health teams when they visit. Right now, there are 394 total dengue cases in the area, which is lower than before. Officials hope this number will keep falling.

In other health news, the vaccine campaign for girls is doing very well. The goal is to protect young women from cervical cancer. So far, they have reached 78% of their target. The campaign will continue until the end of September. The plan is to vaccinate nearly 400,000 girls across the district.

Dr. Ghani shared that while many parents in communities are saying yes, some schools are facing challenges. Some parents are refusing the vaccine because of incorrect information. The health authority is urging all parents to learn the facts. This vaccine is a safe and powerful shield against a serious disease for their daughters.
