Rana Sanaullah Clarifies PML-N’s Position on Pervez Khattak’s Cabinet Inclusion

Islamabad: Adviser to the Prime Minister, Rana Sanaullah, addressed rumors surrounding the inclusion of former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak in the cabinet on Thursday. Speaking on a private news channel, Rana Sanaullah clarified that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had not made any decision regarding Khattak’s involvement in the government. He added that only Mohsin Naqvi could clarify which political party he is affiliated with, implying ambiguity over his political alignment.

Sanaullah also touched upon a past briefing involving General Faiz Hameed, during which General Qamar Javed Bajwa was also present. He mentioned that General Faiz Hameed had suggested that bringing the Taliban back could help resolve ongoing issues.

In a separate development, former Prime Minister and Awam Pakistan Party (APP) chief Shahid Khaqan Abbasi made a statement on Sunday regarding Imran Khan, founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Abbasi asserted that the United States could not intervene in matters concerning Khan, stressing that Imran Khan must undergo personal reforms for the country’s progress. He also reflected on the uncertain global political landscape, especially following a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Abbasi remarked that such international matters were previously handled within the boundaries of ethics.
