Rajab Butt to Go Live on Instagram Amid Legal Controversies

Butt is also facing separate charges linked to the promotion of gambling and betting applications.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani YouTuber Rajab Butt has announced that he will go live on Instagram today to share his version of events and present evidence related to the legal cases and controversies surrounding him. He described the session as “Meri Kahani, Meri Zubani,” saying he wants to address the allegations directly with his followers.

Butt has been involved in several high-profile disputes over the past year and recently made headlines after being assaulted inside Karachi’s additional district and sessions court. The incident occurred during a bail hearing where he appeared alongside fellow TikToker Nadeem Mubarak, also known as Naniwaala. Butt was reportedly attacked by lawyers inside the courtroom, leaving him injured, allegedly over remarks he made about lawyers in a previous vlog.

His lawyer, Advocate Mian Ali Ashfaq, confirmed the assault and termed it an unacceptable act, saying violence has no place in a civilized society. Following the hearing, the court extended Butt’s interim bail until January 13, 2026. Butt is also facing separate charges linked to the promotion of gambling and betting applications.

The controversy has further expanded due to legal action involving his lawyer. Mian Ali Ashfaq’s practicing licence was recently suspended by the Punjab Bar Council, a decision he is contesting in the Lahore High Court. He claims the suspension is unfair and has requested that the Karachi Bar Association be made a party to the case. The matter, linked to his appearance in Karachi courts during a lawyers’ strike, has been adjourned until January 5, 2026.

Earlier in March 2025, Butt also faced strong criticism and a blasphemy case after launching a perfume named “295,” referencing Pakistan’s blasphemy law. Religious groups filed complaints, calling the product offensive. Although Butt later issued an apology and announced the discontinuation of the perfume, the incident added to his legal and public challenges.

He has previously faced other controversies as well, including allegations related to his online content and a case involving possession of a lion cub, which was later resolved through compliance with authorities.

Despite ongoing legal issues, Rajab Butt remains one of Pakistan’s most-followed digital creators. His upcoming Instagram live session is being closely watched, as he aims to clarify his stance on the court assault and other controversies while attempting to restore his public image.
