Times changing, punishment coming, says INC leader
Rahul Gandhi- (Special Correspondent/Web desk)Rahul Gandhi Renews Allegations of Vote Rigging
India’s Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, has once again accused the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Election Commission of India (ECI) of conspiring to rig elections. He described the alleged vote manipulation as an act of “treason,” The News reported.
Video Message Targets BJP and ECI
In a video message posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, the Congress leader repeated his claims of electoral fraud. He also named other states where he said voting irregularities had taken place.
“Vote Theft Is Betrayal of Democracy”
“Vote theft is not just an electoral scam; it is a major betrayal against the Constitution and democracy. Let the nation’s culprits hear this — times will change, punishment will surely be meted out,” Gandhi declared.
INDIA Alliance Meeting Raises Fraud Concerns
The statement came a day after an INDIA alliance meeting on Thursday evening, where Gandhi alleged that a “huge criminal fraud” had taken place during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Six Key Irregularities in Karnataka Survey
Gandhi referred to a Karnataka survey that, according to him, exposed six major voting irregularities:
- Multiple entries for the same voter
- Duplicate registrations in different states
- False addresses in voter records
- Bulk voters registered at a single residence
- Blurry or unclear photographs on voter IDs
- Misuse of Form 6, meant for enrolling first-time voters
Allegations of ‘Choreographed’ Poll Schedule
He further accused the ECI of designing a “choreographed schedule” for state assembly polls in partnership with the BJP. Gandhi also claimed that the commission refused to share digital voter roll data.
ECI Demands Proof Under Oath
The Election Commission dismissed Gandhi’s claims as an “absurd analysis” and challenged him to provide evidence through a formal sworn statement
