Punjab Schools Revise Timings Effective February 2

LAHORE: (Web Desk) – The Punjab School Education Department has announced new school timings effective February 2.

Under the revised schedule, primary and junior classes will run from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., while senior classes will continue until 2:00 p.m. Previously, schools had been asked to start at 8:45 a.m. under anti-smog measures issued by the Punjab Environmental Protection Department to protect students from hazardous air quality.

That order remained in effect until January 31. Additional Secretary Schools, Ch. Naveed Deerath, clarified that the previous restriction applied only until January 31 and that private schools may set their own schedules. He also noted that school hours during the holy month of Ramadan will be adjusted to align with fasting hours.
