Punjab Launches Helpline and Announces Initiatives to Improve Cattle Markets

LAHORE – The Punjab government has launched a new initiative to improve the cattle market experience for farmers, traders, and the general public. A dedicated helpline, 1233, has been established for addressing queries and complaints related to the 121 cattle markets across the province. This helpline is overseen by the Punjab Cattle Market Management and Development Company.

Punjab Local Government Minister Zeeshan Rafiq announced the launch of the helpline and highlighted other developments in the cattle market sector. He mentioned the introduction of a payment-on-delivery facility for online cattle purchases, aiming to streamline the buying process. Additionally, Minister Rafiq revealed plans for the construction of 20 model cattle markets under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. These markets are expected to provide improved infrastructure and services for all stakeholders.

The Minister further announced the establishment of model cattle markets along the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) route. This initiative is likely to boost trade and economic activity in the region.
