LAHORE: (Staff Reporter) – The Punjab government has decided to introduce a biometric attendance system for teachers in all government schools across the province as part of efforts to strengthen monitoring, security and administrative efficiency.
According to official sources, the School Education Department has directed all district education authorities to install biometric attendance systems and CCTV cameras in approximately 38,000 government schools within one month.

The initiative aims to improve attendance monitoring, enhance school security and strengthen surveillance across educational institutions.
Officials said district administrations have been instructed to complete the installation process within the stipulated timeframe to ensure the new system becomes operational as soon as possible.
The move is part of the provincial government’s broader efforts to modernize school management, improve accountability and provide a safer learning environment for students and staff.
