Punjab Govt Allocates 43 Bln Rupees for Police in Third Quarter of 2024/25 Budget
Punjab Police Receives Additional Funds for Operational Needs and Maintenance

LAHORE: The Punjab government has released 43 billion rupees for the Punjab Police as part of the third-quarter funding for the fiscal year 2024/25. This allocation is part of the total 186 billion rupees budgeted for the Punjab Police in the current fiscal year.
According to police officials, the government had previously released 54 billion rupees in the first quarter and 37 billion rupees in the second quarter, bringing the total amount released so far to 134 billion rupees for the first three quarters.
The Inspector General (IG) of Punjab has directed that the funds for the third quarter be distributed among all districts and units. The highest allocation in the third quarter went to Lahore Police, which received 6.49 billion rupees, including 930 million rupees for the City Traffic Office (CTO) Lahore and 40 million rupees for fuel expenses.
Additional funds have been earmarked for various needs across the police force. The Punjab Telecommunication and Transport Department received over 1.27 billion rupees, while the Investigation Branch of Punjab was allocated 138 million rupees. The funds will also cover expenses for furniture procurement, vehicle repairs, building maintenance, and other operational needs.
