Punjab Education Boards Announce Ninth Class Examination Results

LAHORE: (Staff Reporter) – Five education boards across Punjab announced the results of the 9th class annual examinations on Wednesday, with pass rates varying significantly among the boards.

The results showed particularly low success rates in several regions, with more than half of the candidates failing in Lahore and Gujranwala.

Lahore Board

Around 280,000 students appeared in the examinations conducted by the Lahore Board. According to Board Chairman Professor Badar-us-Salam and Controller Examinations Tauseefur Rehman, approximately 130,000 candidates passed, while around 150,000 failed.

The overall pass rate was reported at 46.51 percent.

Faisalabad Board

More than 196,000 candidates appeared in the 9th class examinations across the Faisalabad division.

The board said approximately 100,000 students were successful, resulting in an overall pass percentage of 51.21 percent.

Chairman Faisalabad Board Rana Binyamin announced the results through the board’s official website, enabling students to check their marks and results online.

Bahawalpur Board

The Bahawalpur Board reported one of the lowest pass rates among the boards covered.

Of approximately 105,000 students who appeared in the examination, 40,611 candidates passed, putting the overall success rate at 38.46 percent.

Board officials said transparency was maintained throughout the examination process. Controller Examinations Syed Muhammad Waheeduz Zaman Hamdani congratulated successful students and encouraged those who could not pass to continue working hard rather than becoming discouraged.

Multan Board

The Multan Board recorded a comparatively higher success rate.

Board Chairman Dr Ijaz Ahmad Tatla said around 140,000 students appeared in the examinations, of whom 73,301 were declared successful.

The board’s overall pass percentage stood at 52.11 percent.

Gujranwala Board

Around 249,000 candidates appeared in the examinations conducted by the Gujranwala Board, according to Controller Examinations Professor Nadeem Ahmad.

Approximately 115,000 students passed, while about 133,000 failed. The reported pass percentage was 46.51 percent.

Jhang

In Jhang, 31,874 students appeared for the 9th class annual examinations.

A total of 20,131 candidates were declared successful, while 11,743 students obtained less than the required 33 percent marks.

Overall, around 64 percent of candidates secured more than 33 percent marks.

Chiniot

The Chiniot examination results showed that 13,215 students appeared in the annual exams.

Of these, 6,043 students passed, while 7,172 candidates obtained less than 33 percent marks.

Sargodha

The Sargodha Board also announced its 9th class results, with 177,782 candidates appearing in the annual examinations.

According to the board, 45,925 students were declared successful, while the overall pass percentage stood at 42.61 percent.

The varying results across Punjab’s education boards have highlighted significant differences in student performance, with several boards recording pass rates below 50 percent.
