Punjab Approves Upgrade of 200 Afternoon Schools
The project will run from April 1, 2025, to June 30, 2027.
LAHORE: The Punjab government has approved the upgrade of 200 afternoon schools, allowing them to be raised from primary to higher levels.
According to official details, more than Rs. 470 million will be spent on the project. Out of these, 64 schools have been included under a pilot project, while 136 new schools will be upgraded in this phase. The Finance Department has already released Rs. 100 million as the first installment for the initiative.
The project will run from April 1, 2025, to June 30, 2027. District Education Authorities have been instructed to submit reports on the utilization of funds.

In addition, the government has also issued guidelines for teacher recruitment and salary payments to ensure smooth implementation of the plan.
