LAHORE: Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat on Monday clarified that all schools across the province will remain open on Tuesday as per schedule, dispelling rumors of closures due to ongoing protests.
It is important to mention that confusion had spread among students and parents following the recent demonstrations by Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP). “All schools in Punjab are open tomorrow as per schedule,” he stated.

Protests by TLP had caused disruptions in several areas over the past few days. The group, which began its march from Lahore on Friday, was heading toward Islamabad to hold a demonstration in support of Gaza and Palestine outside the US embassy.
However, their route was blocked by authorities near Muridke, where protesters clashed with law enforcement personnel on Monday before being dispersed, according to police reports.
In response to the clashes, authorities temporarily closed sections of roads and motorways around Lahore and Islamabad, creating panic among citizens and leading to early closures in some Islamabad schools.
Officials confirmed that despite the unrest, educational institutions across Punjab, including Lahore, operated normally on Monday and will continue to follow regular schedules.
