Peshawar: PTI’s Covering Candidate Waqas Orakzai Withdraws from Senate Election in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

In a significant development just a day before the Senate elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) covering candidate, Waqas Orakzai, has announced his withdrawal from the race.

Speaking in the presence of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, Orakzai said that when it comes to Imran Khan’s directives, nothing else holds importance for him. He emphasized that his decision was not made under any pressure.

Chief Minister Gandapur praised the move, stating, “We are proud that PTI workers have always upheld Imran Khan’s vision. Waqas Orakzai has once again prioritized the party’s interests and the founder’s directive over personal gain by agreeing to withdraw his nomination on our request.”

He added, “I want to send a clear message to the entire party: for us, the instructions of Imran Khan and the interest of PTI come first—everything else is secondary.”
