PTI’s Ali Muhammad alleged audio leak provides insights into Nov 24 protest
ISLAMABAD: An alleged audio leak of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ali Muhammad Khan has raised serious questions about the party’s internal leadership dynamics and the controversial November 24 protest. The leaked audio, reportedly recorded during a PTI political committee meeting, sheds light on Khan’s frustrations regarding recent decisions and the handling of the protest call.
In the purported audio, Ali Muhammad Khan criticizes the decision to have Aleema Khan, rather than Barrister Gohar, lead the call for the protest. Khan questions the legitimacy of this move and suggests it was not in line with party protocols. He voices concerns about the lack of prior consultation within the leadership, particularly regarding the protest’s strategy.
Khan’s comments further reveal confusion within the party regarding the protest’s direction. He expressed discomfort with the decision to head towards D-Chowk, stating that the PTI founder, Imran Khan, had never given such instructions. According to Khan, Imran Khan had only called for PTI members to gather in Islamabad, with the final location to be determined upon arrival, creating apparent contradictions between the leadership’s instructions and actions on the ground.
The leaked conversation also touches on internal disagreements over protest strategies. Khan mentioned that Imran Khan had explicitly opposed separate protests in Sindh and Punjab and instead directed the leadership to engage in negotiations at Singjani. However, this directive was reportedly ignored as the party continued its march towards D-Chowk.
Additionally, Khan expressed dissatisfaction over the involvement of Bushra Bibi, Imran Khan’s wife, in the protest, claiming that the PTI founder was unaware of her participation. He also suggested that any key decisions about protests should have been made by the party leadership, particularly the chairman and secretary-general, and not by individuals outside the formal leadership structure.
The leaked audio also reveals a significant concern regarding dynastic politics within PTI. Khan referenced Imran Khan’s previous stance against nepotism, underlining the founder’s commitment to merit-based leadership and a strong opposition to dynastic practices.
The controversy surrounding the alleged audio leak comes amidst growing concerns within PTI about the party’s direction and leadership cohesion. The leaked conversation highlights deep rifts and a lack of coordination within the party, raising serious questions about the effectiveness of its leadership as the party navigates political turmoil.

In a related development, PTI’s political committee issued a formal statement earlier today, demanding full access to the party’s founder, Imran Khan, due to ongoing concerns about his health and safety. The committee has called on the federal and provincial governments to provide transparent updates regarding his well-being and ensure his fundamental rights are upheld.
The PTI has warned the government and state institutions that they will be held accountable for any lapse in safeguarding Imran Khan’s health and safety, further intensifying the already turbulent political climate surrounding the party.
As the situation unfolds, the party’s internal rifts and leadership struggles continue to dominate headlines, leaving many questioning the future trajectory of PTI under its current leadership.
