PSX Market Capitalization Surpasses Rs20 Trillion at Start of New Year
Currently, 19 companies on the PSX have a market valuation exceeding $1 billion
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has set a new milestone at the beginning of the New Year as its total market capitalization crossed Rs20 trillion on Saturday, driven by the growing number of high-value listed companies.
Currently, 19 companies on the PSX have a market valuation exceeding $1 billion, while seven major firms have newly entered the category of companies valued at more than $2 billion.
Economic expert Muhammad Sohail noted that the stock market has shown a strong bullish trend since the start of the year, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index surpassing the 179,000-point level. He recalled that in 2023, only three companies in Pakistan had a valuation of $1 billion.
