PSL 11 Will be Played in a New Format

The tournament will include eight teams, with each franchise assured a minimum of 10 matches.

ISLAMABAD: The 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) is set to introduce a revamped competition structure, with the 2026 season bringing changes to how teams progress through the tournament.

According to reports, PSL 11 will run from March 26 to May 3, 2026, and will be staged across five cities. The expanded season will feature 44 matches over 39 days, making it one of the longest editions in the league’s history. The tournament will include eight teams, with each franchise assured a minimum of 10 matches.

The league will be conducted in two phases. In the opening phase, all teams will compete in a single-round format, playing every other side once. This stage will account for 28 matches and will determine standings for the next round.

In the second phase, the competition will shift to a group-based system, with the eight teams divided into two groups of four. Known as the Super Four stage, this round will see each team play three matches, contributing to 12 games in total.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the playoffs, where the title race will intensify. Despite the structural changes, the PCB has maintained the existing match guarantee, ensuring all teams play at least 10 games during the season.

The new format is aimed at adding variety and competitiveness to PSL 11 while keeping the league’s core structure intact.
