PSL 11 to Feature Player Auction, Higher Salaries
Faisalabad Added as Venue for PSL 11 Matches
ISLAMABAD: (Mudassar Ch/ Web Desk) – The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has unveiled major reforms ahead of its 11th edition, highlighting the league’s growth, competitiveness, and innovation.
In a historic move, PSL will replace its traditional player draft system with a player auction, aimed at boosting competitive balance, transparency, and player earning opportunities. Under the new system, each franchise can retain a maximum of four players—one per category—while rules on mentors, brand ambassadors, and the right-to-match option have been removed. Newly inducted teams can also retain four players from the player pool prior to the auction.

Franchises will be allowed one direct signing of a foreign player who did not participate in PSL 10, enabling strategic squad strengthening with international talent. Additionally, the player salary purse has been raised to USD 1.6 million per franchise, underscoring PSL’s commitment to attracting top domestic and international cricketers.
PSL 11 will start on March 26, 2026, with Faisalabad returning as an additional venue, further expanding the league’s national footprint. More details regarding the player auction, schedule, and operational guidelines will be shared soon.
The league emphasized that these measures reflect its strategic evolution, promoting cricketing excellence, fan engagement, and growth to new heights.
