Prime Minister Calls for Peace and Dialogue on International Day of Peace
On September 21, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the importance of dialogue in fostering peace and stability in the region. In a message marking the International Day of Peace, he underscored the need to resolve longstanding disputes as a key step toward this goal.
He highlighted that a fair and just resolution to the Jammu and Kashmir conflict is crucial, advocating for a peaceful solution through an impartial plebiscite and adherence to relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
The Prime Minister also expressed solidarity with the people of Palestine, calling attention to their struggle against state aggression. He stated that achieving lasting peace in the Middle East requires resolving the conflict in accordance with UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Palestinian people.
On this occasion, he urged the government and people of Pakistan to join the global community in promoting shared values of tolerance, compassion, and cooperation for a world free from war and conflict. He noted the importance of fostering dialogue and understanding among diverse communities to create a sustainable and peaceful future.
Recognizing the challenges posed by conflict and division, the Prime Minister stressed that bridging differences and working collaboratively towards peace is essential. He affirmed Pakistan’s commitment to contributing to a more peaceful and inclusive world, emphasizing that collective efforts are necessary to build a peaceful tomorrow for future generations.
