President Joe Biden Grants Presidential Pardon to Son Hunter Biden

Hunter Biden had confessed to all nine charges against him.

WASHINGTON: In a significant move, U.S. President Joe Biden has granted a presidential pardon to his son, Hunter Biden, who faced charges related to purchasing a firearm while under the influence of drugs and committing tax fraud.

The decision comes after Hunter Biden was convicted in June of this year by a Wilmington court for purchasing a firearm in 2018 while intoxicated and for making false statements related to the purchase. Additionally, Hunter faced charges of tax fraud and failing to file tax returns, to which he had pleaded guilty.

Hunter Biden had confessed to all nine charges against him. Following his guilty plea, the court warned him that he could face up to 17 years in prison and a fine of up to $450,000. However, with the final sentencing scheduled for December, President Biden granted his son a pardon, preventing further legal consequences.

This rare presidential pardon is seen as a reflection of the Biden family’s desire to move past the legal issues surrounding Hunter Biden, allowing him to put the matter behind him before the court’s final ruling.
