PPP Sindh Division Stance Holds Firm After Bilawal-Zardari Meeting

London – (Special Correpondent/Web Desk) – The PPP Sindh division stance stayed unchanged after a long meeting between Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and his father, President Asif Ali Zardari, in London. The two leaders talked for nearly five hours and agreed the party will not accept any plan to split Sindh.

Bilawal’s sister, Bakhtawar Bhutto-Zardari, also joined the meeting at their father’s London home. The family discussed the current political situation in Pakistan and the ongoing debate about new provinces.

The leaders also talked about a recent speech by PPP leader Faryal Talpur. Sources close to the party said her remarks were an important part of the discussion.

This meeting comes right after the Sindh Assembly passed a resolution on September 3. The resolution rejected any move to divide the province or change its borders. It made clear that lawmakers will not allow any change to Sindh’s territory.

The debate over new provinces started in July. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said Pakistan’s system of governance had broken down and needs new administrative units. Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal later suggested creating between 12 and 15 provinces across the country.

These ideas faced strong pushback in Sindh. PPP leaders said they will always stand against any plan that breaks up the province. Defence Minister Khawaja Asif criticized the party, saying it supports a Saraiki province in Punjab but resists changes to Sindh.

Bilawal earlier said the party’s stance is simple. He said any new province must be created only through agreement among all political sides. He added that matters related to Sindh should be settled inside the provincial assembly.

After the London meeting ended, Bilawal told reporters he plans to stay in London for a few more days.
