IESCO Cracks Down on Power Theft: Rs 9.8 Million Fine Imposed, Arrests Made

Islamabad-A Very comprehensive and indiscriminate drive against power theft is On full swing in the entire IESCO region upon the directions of the Federal Government and Power Division.

Asim Nazir Raja Spokesman IESCO while updating regarding the ongoing campaign said that our operation M&T and surveillance directorates are tirelessly struggling to eliminate power theft from the IESCO region . He said that during the month of September 2024 in different operations 119 cases of direct supply stealing of electricity from 11 kv feeders and 8 tempard meters reported. The detection team fined them 9.8 million rupees and police also arrested many culprits.

Spokesman IESCO Futher briefed that since September 2023 the Compaign started 16,615 power Pilferers caught while stealing electricity and 690.90 million rupees fine charged to them and police also arrested 1920 persons involved in electricity theft.
