Political Leaders Pursue Election Alliance: JUI-F Chief Engages in Talks with PML-N

Country is again on verge of default: Fazlur Rehman

ISLAMABAD: In a significant development, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F), announced on Thursday that discussions are underway with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) regarding a potential election alliance. Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Rehman emphasized the priority of forging a strong electoral partnership.

Expressing discontent with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Rehman questioned the necessity of the electoral watchdog if the election schedule is determined by court rulings. He criticized the recent practice of confiscating nomination papers, stating that such actions contribute to voter unrest, potentially diminishing voter turnout.

Highlighting the current state of the country, Rehman voiced concerns about its economic stability, asserting that Pakistan is once again on the brink of default. Turning his attention to international relations, he underscored the crucial need for stability in Afghanistan and expressed a commitment to restoring ties between Pakistan and its neighbor.

Emphasizing the importance of adhering to international laws, Rehman advocated for resolving differences between neighboring countries through diplomatic means. As political leaders engage in discussions to form alliances, the evolving dynamics set the stage for a potentially transformative political landscape in the upcoming elections.

While Former KP Chief Minister Mahmood Khan Secures Nomination Across Four Constituencies

Swat: Mahmood Khan, the former Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), achieved a significant milestone as his nomination papers were accepted from four constituencies—NA-2, NA-3, NA-4, and PK-10. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Parliamentarians leader personally appeared before the returning officer (RO) in Swat for the scrutiny of his nomination papers.

Expressing his commitment to the party’s principles, Khan stated, “Peace, development, and prosperity are part of our party’s manifesto. The objective of my politics is to serve the masses and the community.”

In recent days, PTI (Parliamentarians) Chairman Pervez Khattak criticized the deposed prime minister, asserting that his manifesto was built on “lies.” Speaking at a public gathering in Nowshera, Khattak remarked, “We were of the view that the deposed premier was the country’s savior. But now, today, he has been exposed.”
