In a related development, a separate attack targeting a law enforcement team assigned to protect polio workers resulted in the martyrdom of one police constable, while four others sustained injuries. The team was on its way to provide security for vaccination staff.

The incident occurred in Thall tehsil on the opening day of Pakistan’s second nationwide anti-polio campaign of the year, which is scheduled to run from April 13 to 19.
