PML-N to Consult Allies on Ban for PTI in Parliament: Khawaja Asif
Asif concluded by urging the judiciary to respect its own authority and make decisions grounded in the constitution rather than political motivations.
Sialkot: – Defense Minister Khawaja Asif announced that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) will engage in consultations with its parliamentary allies regarding the potential ban on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
During a press conference in Sialkot, Asif criticized PTI’s leadership, stating, “The goal of PTI is solely power,” and emphasized that Pakistan’s integrity is paramount. He condemned the notion that without Imran Khan, there is no Pakistan, asserting that for him, the nation’s welfare comes first.
Asif also addressed the implications of Article 6, recalling past confrontations and investigations related to the article, particularly involving Shafqat Mahmood, who previously held a press conference against him.
He reiterated PML-N’s commitment to upholding the constitution, condemning any attempts to undermine Pakistan’s integrity and referencing the events of May 9 as an attack on the Supreme Court’s existence.
