PMD Forecasts Hot and Dry Weather Across Pakistan
The PMD expects isolated showers in upper KP, Kashmir, and Balochistan, providing brief relief from the prevailing hot and dry conditions.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather forecast, predicting that much of the country will experience hot and dry conditions in the coming days, with isolated rain expected in certain areas.
As per the forecast, regions such as Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and most parts of Punjab are set to remain largely hot and dry. However, higher elevations in KP could see partly cloudy skies. In Balochistan, while most areas are expected to stay dry, districts like Barkhan, Awaran, and Khuzdar may witness gusty winds, thunderstorms, and localized rain.
From September 30 to October 6, 2024, hot and dry weather is likely to dominate across the country. Isolated showers and thunderstorms are predicted for parts of Kashmir on October 4, followed by similar weather patterns in upper KP, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and central and southern Punjab on October 5. By October 6, hot and dry conditions will persist, although there may still be isolated rain and thunderstorms in parts of KP, Punjab, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
In Karachi, partly cloudy skies along with hot and humid conditions are forecast for the next 24 hours, with maximum temperatures expected to reach 35°C. Currently, the temperature is around 28°C.
Residents are advised to prepare for continued hot weather, with the possibility of rain in select areas.
