PM Vows Continued Push for Balochistan Development Despite Renewed Security Concerns

Balochistan – (Staff Reporter/Web Desk) – Balochistan development remained the central theme as Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif addressed the nation, honoring the sacrifices made in the fight against terrorism. In his shehbaz sharif balochistan speech, he noted that nearly 90,000 Pakistanis have lost their lives battling militancy over the years.

The prime minister also mourned the loss of Mastung Sessions Judge Abdul Hakim and another official who were killed recently. He said the entire nation must come together and stay firm against extremism.

Shehbaz Sharif praised the armed forces and police for their constant efforts to keep the country safe. He said that beating terrorism is not a job for one institution alone. It needs everyone working together.

Balochistan Called the Heart of Pakistan’s Growth

Turning to Balochistan development, the PM called the province Pakistan’s largest and said its people helped build the nation from the very start. He added that every province, including Balochistan, has equal ownership of Islamabad.

He thanked Balochistan’s leaders for standing by the federation, even when political disagreements arose. Because the province is so large and spread out, he said it naturally needs more funding than smaller regions.

Sharing numbers, he revealed that Punjab alone gave Rs150 billion to Balochistan through the NFC Award. Other provinces chipped in too. He called this support a sign of brotherhood, not charity.

The prime minister listed several ongoing efforts to boost Balochistan development. Around 27,000 tube wells are being switched to solar power, easing the burden on farmers. A Rs75 billion solar project is moving forward, with the federal government covering Rs50 billion of it.

Work on the Karachi-Chaman highway is progressing steadily. A separate Rs300 billion infrastructure plan should wrap up within two years. On top of that, Rs368 billion has been set aside in the federal budget for water storage.

He also proposed renaming the Kachchi Canal as the Pakistan Canal, calling it a project of national pride.

Fighting Corruption and Strengthening the Economy

Shehbaz Sharif didn’t shy away from tough talk on corruption. He said dishonest practices within the FBR cause even more damage than open collusion, with huge sums vanishing before reaching the treasury.

This, he explained, weakens the economy and forces Pakistan to borrow just to repay old debts. Still, he shared some good news: the FBR collected Rs800 billion more in taxes last year thanks to better teamwork.

He pointed to Japan and Germany as examples of nations that rebuilt themselves through hard work after tough times. He promised that the same transparent system used at the federal level will soon reach the provinces too.

On education, the PM said laptops are being handed out to deserving students purely on merit. Last year, around 100,000 students received laptops. Now, Balochistan students will get an extra 10 percent quota in both laptops and scholarships.

He wrapped up by saying Pakistan has earned more respect on the world stage lately, thanks to smart diplomacy. He credited the field marshal and the deputy prime minister for this progress, saying it’s time to shift focus toward economic growth.
