ISLAMABAD: In a move that has sparked intrigue within the political landscape, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has tendered his resignation from the presidency of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
According to sources, the resignation has prompted the central executive committee of the party to convene a meeting scheduled for May 18th.
Ahsan Iqbal, the Secretary-General of the PML-N, has dispatched notices to all executive committee members, informing them of the meeting to be held at 180-H Block, Model Town, Lahore, at 11:30 AM.
Reports suggest that the party recognizes Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s preoccupation with governmental affairs, which may have hindered his ability to fully attend to party matters. Consequently, there is a pressing need within the party to revitalize its presence across the country.
