PM Shehbaz Sharif Orders Immediate Relief on Electricity Bills, Fast-Tracks Solar Projects

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has mandated swift relief on electricity bills during a federal cabinet meeting, emphasizing immediate action in response to economic hardships. The meeting, chaired by the Prime Minister, also saw directives for expedited implementation of solar tube wells.
Key decisions made during the cabinet session included the approval of pharmaceutical advertisements across TV, radio, and print media. Discussions also delved into rightsizing and downsizing strategies within various ministries.
Addressing the nation’s economic challenges, PM Shehbaz Sharif underscored the urgency of accelerating the government’s austerity plan. A detailed proposal for the abolition of certain ministries and departments was also presented.
The cabinet reviewed and submitted recommendations from a dedicated committee concerning five federal ministries: Information Technology, Kashmir Affairs, Saffron, Industry and Production, and Health Services.
