Date Set for Local Government Elections in Islamabad: Details inside

The Election Commission committed to issuing two notifications regarding these matters within the next two weeks.

Islamabad: In a significant development, the Islamabad High Court has made progress in the case concerning local government elections in the federal capital.

During the hearing, presided over by Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, the Election Commission assured the court that local elections in Islamabad will be held on September 29.

The Election Commission’s counsel informed the court that amendments to the Election Act are necessary for the elections, and issues related to reserved seats are yet to be clarified.

The Election Commission committed to issuing two notifications regarding these matters within the next two weeks.

The Islamabad High Court noted in its order that further hearings will take place after the court’s recess. If any issues arise, a civil miscellaneous application can be filed.
