Pakistan expresses readiness to mediate US-Iran peace negotiations

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has affirmed that Pakistan is ready to host meaningful talks aimed at ending the ongoing Middle East crisis, describing it as a matter of national pride if both the United States and Iran agree to participate.

Speaking on the need for dialogue, the Prime Minister emphasized that such talks are essential for regional and global peace and stability. Pakistan welcomes ongoing diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict and is prepared to provide a venue for a comprehensive settlement.

The commitment follows a recent telephonic conversation between PM Shehbaz Sharif and Iranian President Masoud Peshmerga, during which both leaders agreed to continue Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting peace in the region.

Reports indicate that US Vice President JD Vance along with Witkoff and Jared Kushner, are likely to represent the United States in the anticipated talks scheduled to be held in Islamabad next week.

A spokesperson for the Pakistani Foreign Office reiterated that Pakistan is fully prepared to host mediation should both parties agree, signaling Islamabad’s willingness to play a central role in fostering dialogue and conflict resolution.
