ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Jiang Zaidong has said that the successful completion of China’s key political meetings and progress on its upcoming development plan reflect confidence, stability, and sustained economic growth, sending a positive signal to the global community.
Speaking about ties with Pakistan, he highlighted China’s ongoing support in the health sector. Over the past two years, China has distributed 70,000 health kits to children in Balochistan, reaching hundreds of schools across 23 districts. Chinese medical teams have also performed life-saving surgeries on children with congenital heart conditions.
At the China-Pakistan Friendship Hospital in Gwadar, tens of thousands of patients have received treatment, with more than 1,000 people benefiting from free medical services daily. This year, China plans to supply over 80,000 medical items to maternal and child health centers, aiming to assist around six million people.

The ambassador emphasized China’s strong role in the global economy, noting that its GDP surpassed $20 trillion in 2025 and that it contributes nearly 30 percent to global growth. A growth target of 4.5 to 5 percent has been set for 2026, reinforcing its position as a stabilizing force in the world economy.
He also highlighted China’s focus on innovation, with research and development spending exceeding $522 billion last year and expected to grow further. Key areas of advancement include artificial intelligence, digital industries, and smart manufacturing. China has also built the world’s largest 5G network and continues to lead in new energy vehicle production.
Looking ahead, Chinese companies are exploring further opportunities in Pakistan, particularly in 5G infrastructure and emerging technologies. The ambassador also pointed to China’s expanding global trade, which reached $6.24 trillion in 2025, and its continued commitment to international cooperation through initiatives like the Belt and Road Initiative.
