PM Shehbaz Orders Legal Action Against Human Traffickers’ Assets
PM Orders Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Facilitate Repatriation of Traffickers
Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed legal action to seize the properties and assets of human traffickers.
A review meeting on actions taken against human trafficking in the country was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He praised the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for its recent actions against government officials involved in human trafficking.
Commending the measures, the Prime Minister said that the recent disciplinary actions against officials facilitating human traffickers are commendable. He emphasized that strict punitive measures should follow these actions against facilitators.
Prime Minister Sharif instructed that severe legal action be taken against all human trafficking groups in the country to set an example. Immediate legal steps must be initiated for the confiscation of traffickers’ properties and assets.
He further directed that the prosecution process against all individuals involved in this heinous trade be made more effective, with top lawyers appointed after consulting the Ministry of Law and Justice.
The Prime Minister also directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to establish contact with relevant countries and take swift action for the repatriation of traffickers to Pakistan.
He emphasized the need to run a public awareness campaign in collaboration with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the Ministry of Interior, urging people to use only legal routes for overseas employment. Furthermore, efforts should be made to promote technical training institutes that can provide certified professionals to meet international market demands.

Additionally, the Prime Minister called for more effective screening procedures at airports for people traveling abroad.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister was briefed on the progress of actions against human trafficking, legal proceedings against facilitators, and the advancement of legislative measures to combat human trafficking.
