PM Shahbaz Sharif vows thorough investigation into judges’ letters
Prime Minister stated that investigations are underway into the suspicious powder found in the letters received by the judges.
Islamabad: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has declared that the government will conduct a comprehensive investigation into the letters received by judges, emphasizing the need for accountability instead of politics on this serious matter.
During discussions at a federal cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif revealed that in light of the Supreme Court meeting, a commission had been formed with the cabinet’s approval, led by Justice Jilani, but later the former Chief Justice apologized for heading the inquiry commission. Now, the Supreme Court itself is conducting investigations into the matter.

Shahbaz Sharif further remarked that he is holding meetings to review the performance of ministries, highlighting the key role of the IMF in improving the functioning of various sectors to achieve economic targets. He affirmed that ministries will address ongoing challenges to swiftly achieve economic objectives.
He also mentioned that the government is taking concrete steps to alleviate poverty and unemployment, emphasizing the importance of another program with the IMF for economic stability. He stated that $1.1 billion will be received this month through the Stand-By Arrangement with the IMF.
