ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, announced on Monday that 5G services will be launched across the state from March 10, calling it a historic milestone for the region.
Addressing the announcement, the prime minister highlighted that the introduction of high-speed internet would boost education, e-health, e-governance, and the digital economy in Azad Kashmir.
He emphasized that the youth would gain significant opportunities in information technology and freelancing, saying, “5G is not just speed but the speed of development and employment.”

Faisal Mumtaz Rathore assured that every city and village would benefit from digital development, with high-speed internet facilities extended to remote and underserved areas. He noted that Azad Kashmir would receive 5G services simultaneously with Pakistan, marking a major step in the state’s technological advancement.
The prime minister also announced the abolition of right-of-way charges for telecom operators to facilitate infrastructure expansion. One-window services will be provided to promote competition and create an investment-friendly environment for the sector.
He commended the efforts of Chief Secretary Khushal Khan and Secretary IT Rashid Hanif for their role in the initiative and expressed gratitude to all stakeholders, including Pakistan Telecommunication authorities, for their support in making the 5G launch possible.
