PIMS Employee’s Dismissal Over 24 Fake House Job Certificates Converted into Compulsory Retirement
Health Ministry Converts PIMS Employee’s Dismissal Into Compulsory Retirement
According to official documents and hospital sources, Maqboolur Rehman, a Grade-16 employee working as an assistant at PIMS, was dismissed from service on May 30 following an internal inquiry that found him involved in issuing fraudulent house job certificates to house officers.
PIMS sources said the inquiry established that 24 fake certificates had been issued in exchange for money. Investigators also verified financial transactions in Rehman’s bank account during the probe.
Official documents further revealed that Rehman had admitted to the corruption charges during the inquiry.
The PIMS administration had dismissed him under the Civil Servants Rules through an order issued by then Executive Director Professor Imran Sikandar.
However, the Ministry of National Health Services subsequently issued an overriding order converting the dismissal into compulsory retirement.
Hospital sources said Rehman was due to retire on May 30, the same date on which his dismissal order was issued.
The change in the nature of the punishment means he will now be entitled to a pension and other retirement benefits, which he would have forfeited had the dismissal remained in effect.
