KARACHI: (Web Desk) – The Pakistan Football Federation and Foundation Public School have formalised a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening football development at the grassroots and school level across Pakistan.
The collaboration was sealed through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), focusing on structured football training, teacher certification, performance monitoring, and the creation of competitive opportunities for young players.
Under the agreement, the PFF will train and certify sports teachers from Foundation Public School while also providing technical support through qualified coaches for the Foundation United Football Academy. The initiative is designed to improve coaching standards and nurture football talent from an early age.
As part of its commitments, Foundation Public School will organise and sponsor the PFF Karachi Inter-School Football and Futsal Championships, while also developing futsal pitches and academy structures across its campuses to support regular training and competition.
Speaking on the occasion, PFF President Syed Mohsen Gilani said the partnership reflects the federation’s long-term vision of reviving football at the school level. He described the initiative as a vital step towards rebuilding the grassroots structure and announced that nationwide PFF inter-school championships are planned in the future.
FPS Managing Director Raza Kamal Minhas said identifying talent at the grassroots is key to producing future football stars, adding that the school system fully aligns with the PFF’s vision for sustainable development.
Founder Principal Yasmeen Raza Minhas reaffirmed FPS’s commitment to supporting football through Foundation United, stating that the institution would actively promote the sport among students.
The partnership marks a significant move towards institutionalising school-level football and building a strong talent pipeline for Pakistan’s future football landscape.
