Price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has been increased by Rs 2.61 per litre.

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has announced an increase in the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) for the next fortnight, effective from January 16. The decision comes in light of fluctuations in the international oil market.

In an official statement issued on Wednesday, the Finance Division notified that the price of petrol has been raised by Rs 3.47 per litre. This brings the new price of petrol to Rs 286.66 per litre, up from Rs 283.19.

Additionally, the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has been increased by Rs 2.61 per litre. The new rate for HSD will now be Rs 260.95, compared to its previous price of Rs 258.34 per litre.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) confirmed that these price adjustments are in line with international market trends, ensuring that local fuel prices reflect global fluctuations.

The new prices will be applicable for the next fortnight, affecting consumers across Pakistan. The increase in fuel prices is expected to have an impact on transport and other industries reliant on petroleum products.
