LAHORE: (Web Desk) – Peshawar Zalmi clinched their second Pakistan Super League title after defeating Hyderabad Kingsmen by five wickets in a thrilling final at Gaddafi Stadium.

After winning the toss, Zalmi opted to field first, a decision that paid off as Hyderabad’s batting lineup struggled from the outset. The team was bowled out for 129 runs in 18 overs, with Saim Ayub leading the scoring with 54 runs—the first half-century of the match. Captain Marnus Labuschagne contributed 20, while the rest of the lineup failed to build momentum.

Zalmi’s bowling attack was spearheaded by Aaron Hardie, who delivered an outstanding performance, taking four wickets for 27 runs. Nahid Rana also played a key role, picking up two wickets.

In response, Zalmi’s chase got off to a shaky start, with captain Babar Azam dismissed for a duck. Early wickets put the team under pressure, but a crucial partnership turned the game around. Aaron Hardie once again rose to the occasion, remaining unbeaten on 56, while Abdul Samad added a valuable 48 runs to guide their side to victory.

Peshawar Zalmi successfully chased down the 130-run target in the 16th over, losing five wickets along the way. Hardie’s exceptional all-round display earned him recognition as the standout performer of the final.

The stadium was packed with enthusiastic fans, who were also treated to a vibrant closing ceremony before the match. Performances by Atif Aslam, Ali Azmat, Arif Lohar, Aima Baig, and Sabri Sisters added to the festive atmosphere of the grand finale.
