Pervaiz Elahi introduced ‘Ehsaas Rashan Program’ worth Rs100b in Punjab

Lahore: (Staff Reporter) Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi inaugurated Punjab ‘Ehsaas Rashan Program’ in Lahore. The program will cost one hundred billion rupees for provision of edible items to eight million families at affordable rate.

Speaking on the occasion, the Punjab Chief Minister said that “under the program, poor families will be able to purchase flour, ghee, oil and pulses from the registered grocery stores at forty percent discount.”

Furthermore terming the Punjab ‘Ehsaas Rashan Program’ as a remarkable project for the provision of relief to the marginalized sections of society, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi pledged to allocate more funds for this program in future.

According to the source, CM Pervaiz Elahi paid tribute to Dr Sania Nishtar, chairperson of the program for her day and night working to make Ehsaas Ration program a success, saying that the benefit of targeted subsidy goes to the common man and initially Punjab government had allocated Rs100 billion for the program and if needed, the amount would further be increased.

He highlighted that the Ehsaas program had been acknowledged across the world and providing relief to the poor people was the vision of the Punjab government.
