PCB Shifts Tri-Series Against NZ, SA from Multan to Karachi, Lahore
Karachi – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the relocation of the upcoming tri-series between Pakistan, New Zealand, and South Africa from Multan to Karachi and Lahore. Originally scheduled to be held in Multan, the tri-series will now take place in the second week of February at the National Stadium in Karachi and Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
The decision comes as the PCB prioritizes the completion of preparations for the much-anticipated Champions Trophy. The shift to Karachi and Lahore will allow the board to focus on finalizing the infrastructure and facilities at these venues, which are currently undergoing significant upgrades to meet international standards.
The PCB has assured that ongoing development work at both stadiums will be completed on schedule. Notably, Gaddafi Stadium’s capacity is set to increase to 35,000 spectators. The board believes that this adjustment will help align its plans for the Champions Trophy, ensuring the venues are fully prepared for the prestigious event.
