Bangladesh Wheelchair Team Receives Cricket Chairs From PCB
The Bangladeshi Wheelchair Cricket Team (WCCT) visited Pakistan House in Dhaka to receive specially designed cricket wheelchairs gifted by the Pakistan Cricket Board. The event highlighted growing cooperation in promoting inclusive sports between the two nations.
Officials from the Physical Challenge Wing of the Bangladesh Cricket Board attended the ceremony, along with national players including Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah Riyad.
Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Imran Haider, warmly welcomed the team and praised the deep-rooted love for cricket shared by both countries, including among persons with disabilities. He emphasized that wheelchair cricket is a powerful example of resilience and determination, enabling athletes to showcase their talent while challenging societal perceptions about disability.

He also commended both cricket boards for their continued support in developing the sport and acknowledged the players’ dedication in promoting wheelchair cricket. Highlighting the strong cultural and sporting ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh, he noted that cricket remains a key link strengthening relations between the two nations.
The Bangladeshi WCCT is scheduled to participate in the upcoming third T20 Wheelchair Cricket Asia Cup, set to be hosted in Pakistan later this year. The High Commissioner extended his best wishes to the team for success in the tournament.
