Sydney: The Australian cricket team has suffered a major setback just before the Ashes series as captain Pat Cummins will miss the first Test.
According to Cricket Australia, Pat Cummins will not be fit in time for the opening Ashes Test. Steve Smith will lead the team in his absence. Cummins has started running and is expected to resume bowling soon.

Cricket Australia also confirmed that the five-match Ashes series will begin on November 21 in Perth. The second Test is scheduled for December 4 in Brisbane, the third on December 17 in Adelaide, the fourth on December 26 in Melbourne, and the final Test on January 4 in Sydney.
