ISLAMABAD: (News Desk) – A rare celestial event is set to take place later this month, with a partial lunar eclipse expected during the night between August 27 and 28.

The eclipse will see around 96 percent of the Moon move into Earth’s shadow at its peak, creating a striking reddish-orange appearance across much of the lunar surface.

The partial lunar eclipse is expected to reach its maximum at 4:13 am UT on August 28.

Despite the Moon being almost entirely covered by Earth’s shadow, astronomers have clarified that the event will remain a partial lunar eclipse rather than a total lunar eclipse.

During the peak phase, observers in locations where the eclipse is visible will be able to see a large portion of the Moon take on a distinctive reddish-orange hue.

However, skywatchers in Pakistan will not be able to observe the eclipse, as the event will not be visible from the country.
