Pakistan’s Travel Sector Set to Reach $5.53 Billion by 2029

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s travel and tourism industry is projected to generate over $4 billion in revenue by 2025, with continued growth expected at an annual rate of 6.75%. According to the Statista Travel and Tourism Pakistan report, the market is set to reach $5.53 billion by 2029.

The report identifies ‘Package Holidays’ as the dominant market segment, with an estimated revenue of $1.92 billion in 2025. By 2029, the number of users in this category is expected to increase to 22.17 million, with user penetration rising from 11.3% in 2025 to 14.6%.

The industry is also expected to generate 66% of total revenue through online sales by 2029. The rise in domestic tourism, improved infrastructure, and digital platforms are driving this rapid growth. Government initiatives, infrastructure development, and increased international connectivity have contributed to the sector’s success, bolstered by improved security and a stable political environment.
