Pakistan’s Tennis Legend Aisam-ul-Haq Announces Retirement from Professional Tennis
Aisam-ul-Haq ends his career as Pakistan’s most decorated tennis player.
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s legendary tennis star Aisam-ul-Haq has officially bid farewell to the tennis court, marking the end of an illustrious career that spanned over two decades.
Aisam played the final match of his career during the men’s doubles final of the ATP Challenger Cup in Islamabad. Partnering with Muzammil Murtaza, he lost the match in straight sets to the opposing pair.
Speaking after his final match, Aisam congratulated the winning pair and expressed gratitude to his family and supporters, acknowledging their unwavering support throughout his career.
He said that in his role as President of the Pakistan Tennis Federation, he is committed to providing maximum facilities to young players and that hosting the ATP tournament in Pakistan was a major achievement for the sport in the country.

Aisam-ul-Haq had recently announced his retirement from professional tennis, drawing to a close one of the most successful careers in Pakistan’s tennis history.

Aisam-ul-Haq ends his career as Pakistan’s most decorated tennis player. He won a national record 18 ATP World Tour titles and claimed 28 ATP Challenger titles.
He also secured 17 ITF Futures titles in doubles and won 5 ITF singles titles, including one ATP Challenger title in singles.
Aisam remains Pakistan’s most successful Davis Cup player, holding the national record for the most wins in singles, doubles, and overall matches.
At the conclusion of his final match, spectators and fellow players gave him a heartfelt tribute, honoring the legacy of a true Pakistani sports icon.
