Huawei Urged to Expand Investment and Presence in Pakistan
ISLAMABAD: (News Desk) – Federal Minister for Information Technology Shaza Fatima has said Pakistan’s technology sector is witnessing strong growth, driven by the talent, skills and potential of its young workforce.
The minister made the remarks during her visit to Huawei’s Global Service Centre in Islamabad on Monday.
Shaza Fatima said Pakistani IT professionals are increasingly competitive in the global market, offering a strong combination of quality and cost efficiency. She noted that their expanding role in the services sector is strengthening the national economy and contributing significantly to foreign exchange earnings.
She said Pakistan’s IT exports are growing at an annual rate of around 20 percent, while reaffirming the government’s commitment to achieving the $25 billion IT export target set by the prime minister.
Highlighting the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and China, Shaza Fatima expressed optimism that Huawei would further increase its footprint and investment in Pakistan.
