Pakistan’s Sajid Khan Eyes Test Cricket Revival, County Stint on the Horizon
Commenting on the state of four-day Tests, Sajid admitted they often lack appeal due to frequent draws.
Lahore – Pakistan off-spinner Sajid Khan on Wednesday expressed his desire to play more Test cricket, voicing hope that the national team would rise in the red-ball rankings.
Speaking to the media in Lahore, Sajid highlighted the importance of recent training camps and credited former spinner Abdur Rehman for his mentorship. “We are getting quite a bit of help from the camp, which starts early in the morning. It’s been valuable for all the spinners,” he said.
Sajid reaffirmed his commitment to the longer format of the game, calling it an honour to represent Pakistan in Test cricket. He also mentioned his growing interest in improving his white-ball skills, noting that he began his domestic career in limited-overs formats.
Commenting on the state of four-day Tests, Sajid admitted they often lack appeal due to frequent draws. “Nobody would like to watch four-day Tests because they are more likely to end in a draw,” he remarked.

Looking ahead, Sajid revealed that he is in discussions with up to three English county clubs and hopes to feature in a maximum of six matches this season. The opportunity, he said, would help him gain experience and stay competitive at the international level.
