Islamabad-Pakistan’s IT Exports Surge to $286 Million in July,, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s dedication to advancing Pakistan’s IT sector has yielded impressive results, with exports surging to $286 million in July. This 30% growth in just five months is a testament to the government’s concerted efforts to enhance the sector’s global competitiveness.
During a high-level meeting, Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja attributed this success to PM Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership and vision. The premier expressed satisfaction with the progress of the Islamabad IT Park project, which is expected to play a pivotal role in achieving the target of $25 billion in IT exports.
The meeting also reviewed the progress of Digital Smart Cities, with Islamabad set to launch a pilot project providing citizens with access to 150 services through a mobile application. PM Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the importance of embracing mobile applications for accessing government services.

The IT sector has seen substantial growth, with exports rising by 30%, registration of 300,000 students in IT skills programs, establishment of four new incubation centers, and a 30% increase in mobile phone production. Investments in IT projects are expected to generate an additional $2.5 billion in exports, contributing to the broader goal of $10 billion from digital transformation, $2 billion from the telecom sector, and $13 billion from government initiatives.
