Pakistan’s First Armenia Ambassador Presents Credentials in Yerevan
Shafqat Ali Khan Presents Credentials to Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan
Yerevan: (News Desk) – Pakistan’s first Ambassador to Armenia, Shafqat Ali Khan, has formally presented his Letters of Credence to Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan at a ceremony held at the Presidential Palace in Yerevan.
President Khachaturyan welcomed Ambassador Khan and congratulated him on his appointment, expressing his best wishes for a successful tenure. He also assured his support for efforts aimed at strengthening Armenia-Pakistan relations and expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Ambassador Khan conveyed the greetings and best wishes of President and Prime Minister of Pakistan to President Khachaturyan and reaffirmed Islamabad’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties with Armenia.
The two sides highlighted significant opportunities to expand cooperation, particularly in trade and investment, education, culture, people-to-people contacts and other areas of economic engagement.
The presentation of credentials marks an important milestone in Pakistan-Armenia relations following the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries in 2025. It is also the first ambassadorial-level appointment by Pakistan to Armenia.

During his visit to Yerevan, Ambassador Khan also met Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan. The two sides reviewed the bilateral agenda, explored avenues for expanding cooperation and exchanged views on regional and international developments.
Ambassador Khan separately held talks with Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Mnatsakan Safaryan and handed over a copy of his Letters of Credence. Safaryan described the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Armenia as an important policy decision by the leadership of both countries.
The two sides also discussed prospects for enhancing cooperation through bilateral and multilateral platforms.
Ambassador Khan’s engagements in Yerevan reaffirmed the shared commitment of Pakistan and Armenia to deepen bilateral relations and explore new areas of mutually beneficial cooperation.
Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan concurrently serves as Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates and as the country’s non-resident Ambassador to Armenia.
